Terms of Service
Last updated: June 1, 2026
We're open to feedback. We're game creators, not lawyers. If you have concerns, reach out in the Discord.
We run bongle.io, a platform for creating and playing multiplayer games, and the underlying bongle engine (open source on GitHub). Before you head onto bongle.io, there are a few rules you should read and follow.
(1) bongle.io is in development
bongle.io is still being built. Don't be surprised if it contains bugs, or if features change, get added, or get removed. bongle.io is provided "as is" and we make no specific promises or representations about it, including what we may or may not develop in the future.
(2) What you own, what we own
As between you and us: (a) we own all rights in bongle.io and the bongle engine (together the "bongle Property"), subject to the open source licence the engine is released under; and (b) you own all rights in any original games and experiences you make using the bongle engine ("Games"), but excluding any bongle Property or third-party property included in or used with such Games.
(3) Play (and create) by the rules
Please don't do anything that could damage bongle.io or harm other players or rightsholders. In particular, don't:
- hack, harm, or interfere with bongle.io or its servers;
- grief, harass, threaten, or otherwise engage in illegal, harmful, or offensive conduct with us, our staff, or other players;
- create, use, or distribute cheats or exploits, or any other software that affects bongle.io unless we've permitted it;
- infringe any third-party rights.
These rules also apply to any Games you make. For example, you must not use bot accounts or other methods to artificially inflate the user numbers of a Game.
If you break these rules (or we have reasonable grounds to suspect you have), we may temporarily or permanently suspend or cancel your access to bongle.io without prior warning, and we may remove your Games.
(4) Licence
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-assignable, non-sub-licensable, and revocable licence to bongle.io for your personal use.
In turn, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sub-licensable, assignable licence over your Games so we can host them on bongle.io, distribute them to players, and promote them.
(5) Changes
We may update these terms. If we do, we'll make reasonable efforts to update you. If we stop providing bongle.io permanently, we'll try to give you at least 60 days' notice.
(6) Limitation of liability
bongle.io is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties or representations of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any loss, damage, or harm arising from your use of, or inability to use, bongle.io. We don't exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
